Hello & Welcome
Hello, & WELCOME to my new and improved website! I am so glad you are here. It means a lot to me that you’re taking the time out of your day to learn about me and my business.
So, this is my first blog post…..EVER! I mean crazy right? So please bare with me as this is a new experience for me! This blog post is going to be all about me, hope you’re ready to know all the details!
I’m sure you’re sitting here wondering how I even became a photographer?
For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed taking photos, even on the old disposable cameras, and I’m not even sure if they make those anymore- goes to show how old I am.
Back to the story, I have always enjoyed taking photos, and it was mostly around my family farm, and photographing my animals. In middle school I entered State photography contests for my photos of cattle and was always recognized and almost always Best of Show. So that is when I decided to open my margins and started photographing my family, then my friends.
For high school graduation my parents bought me my first “nice camera” and while attending college in the Fall for Veterinary Technology I decided to take a few photography classes since I had some extra slots in my schedule and that’s where I had learned a lot about Nikon.
Since then, I have owned 4 Nikon Cameras! I currently shoot between two FX cameras, and I LOVE THEM both!
Photography to me is more than just a hobby, job, lifestyle…it is something that I truly enjoy. I love creating beautiful images and best of all creating great memories. I promise if you book with me you’re guaranteed to laugh, and have a good time.
For the Love of Cowsss……
I'm sure you're prolly wondering how my LOVE for cattle even began…….
My love for cattle and livestock in general started at a very young age. For as long as I can remember I always wanted to be by my dads side while he was out working on the farm.
My dad and Grandpa raised Belgian horses and beef cattle. And that’s when my love for livestock began. My showing career started when I was a whopping 6 years old, with a little goat named Molly, and from then I was HOOKED.
My dad bought me my first Registered Purebred Hereford Cow/Calf Pair from the WV Beef Expo in 2005. I still to this day have the calf, a lot of you have heard of her, (Fergie) She is my favorite cow of all, and she will never leave the farm.
I ended up showing cattle at local counties, state, and even National Levels. Which were some of the best times of my life.
Now, I have my own herd of registered Hereford Cattle as well as a few other breeds in there, which by the way, are some of my favorite girls to photograph!
There’s nothing more humble than meeting someone who has the same passion as you! If you find someone who loves something as much as you, HOLD THEM TIGHT! I am so blessed and thankful to have someone like Dakota who will do anything in his power to make sure I am happy! Dakota and I have so many goals and dreams & we are going to continue to keep chasing them. And I can not wait to marry this man! (P.S. If you have any wedding planning tips send them my way.)
And its not uncommon for Dakota to be around at some of my sessions, he loves to tag along- and 99% of the time hes carrying my camera bag for me!
